One is to promote IT capability within the company and ensure its appropriate support of corporate goals. The other is to oversee and manage IT security issues. This paper is concerned with IT capability assessment. The research reported here for the rst time applied a self-diagnostic methodology to corporate IT capability assessment. Nine small and medium-sized corporations excellent in IT strategic management cooperated the study. The self-diagnostic methodology of IT capability was found to be a useful and effective tool for enhancing corporate IT capability.
